“Surface Reading”, a literary research method proposed by scholars Stephen Best and Sharon Marcous. As the Internet and emerging technologies in contemporary society dissolve the metaphors and interpretations in the text and keep the meaning intuitively on the surface of things. The Guide of Surface Reading uses social media filters and introductory text to make a soft blanket, transforming this theory of literary criticism into the guide for viewing contemporary art.
