This painting is part of my new series dedicated to the "effects of time" on matter and on human psyche. 

The background of the canvas alludes to the work of time on matter: the peeling on the walls, the rust on the iron, the oxidation on the copper ... I used special products that activate an oxidation process on the canvas producing real rust and verdigris. Above I developed a discourse on the effects of time on our psyche: I traced a network of symbols, signs, passages of writing, connections and references that define a pictorial and calligraphic universe full of meanings. It is a real “mental map” on the work of time, inspired by my experience as a psychoanalyst that allowed me to investigate the psychological changes that occur over the years. Our psyche, also, is marked by “incrustations” and from deposits of previous life stages, it is dotted with scrapes and traces of our past, it is characterized by those “layers” of experience that form the very texture of our existence, accentuating its uniqueness.
