I got this idea from someone saying “to create something from 0 to 1 is much more difficult, respectable and important than to develop something from 1 to 100”. I wonder if there is anything truly created from 0. I think all things in the world are linked in some way even if the link is too weak or complicated to notice or find. When people create something, they will have their own ideas or aim even if they don’t think they have, I guess they have in an unthinking or unconscious manner. When people are born, they are influenced by everything in the world even things you don’t see, hear, notice or know of its existence. Even before they are born, they are probably influenced by them because their parents are influenced, and you are born from them. I think even if just one thing didn’t exist, the world would likely be different. Which means that everything is linked and influences each other. So there are no coincidences in the world and everything happens necessarily. This work expresses the idea that people think they are unique and different but their uniqueness is influenced by all things in the world and not created from 0. Also they don’t realise that they are linked and they think their originality is created on their own from 0. Size: height 200mm, length 200mm, depth 250mm. Material: fabric, wire and thread.
