My idea with Left Behind has been to create an image using painting tools which limit my control of the medium.This results in a random selection of marks, including broad patches of colour into which I squeegee a dark diluted oil glaze.
I did not have a specific idea in mind prior to starting the painting and the abstract image wasn't pre determined, but emerged as part of the painting process.
