I painted with oil my own object of study: the prefrontal-striatal pathway. Its morphological structure, which I saw in the 3D cleared brain, reminded me on dandelion. Moreover I aimed to depict our discovery about the role of this pathway in supporting working memory maintenance. In the end this painting developed into an abstract one: neuron-seeds flying from a brain-grown dandelion. Depending of the field of neuroscience, my colleagues saw here dementia, or the opposite – neurogenesis, or more generally a hopeful mind or blossoming ideas.
